The Philippines is known as the texting capital of the world, which means our phones take a beating daily. Here are some tips to ensure that your phones will stay in tip-top shape longer. 1. Keep your phones away from direct sunlight, extreme cold/heat and moisture. 2. Apply a plastic screen protector and use only dry tissue or soft cloth to clean the exterior of your phone. 3. If your phone gets wet, open the casing, take out the battery, SIM and keypad if applicable. Use a fan or a hairdryer in “cold” setting to remove as much of the water as possible. Let the phone dry out for 2 days before reassembling and attempting to turn the unit on. 4. Take out the battery if you are not going to use your phone for an extended period of time. 5. Do not charge your cell phone inside a very hot car or a closed container because it will make your phone a potential fire hazard. 6. Lithium ion batteries can be charged as soon as the “low batt” indicator lights up, but the battery will last longer if you let it drain completely at least once a week before charging it. 7. Always buy batteries from reputable stores; batteries from unauthorized dealers can explode and cause damage to property or injury. |
