Depressed and Lonely

This was the Facebook status of a guy who has been hinting for a few weeks now that he was sort of, kind of, maybe interested in me.  I don’t know about you, but for me, being “depressed and lonely” is probably the worst reason to pursue someone.  You think that if you do get into a relationship, it’s the end of the crummy feelings you’re going through, but it would be just like applying a little salve in a wound that actually needs major surgery.  

At the receiver’s end, it’s not flattering at all to know that someone is at the brink of pursuing you because he is trying to escape being lonely… and I’m not particularly excited about the idea of taking on the responsibility for someone else’s happiness.

One day I pray that the Lord will cause me to meet a man whose life is already complete, but is similarly called to marry, and in time, we would end up together for the right reasons.  One day, it’ll happen…
