1. Place your ipod in a rubber casing to serve as a shock protector and to prevent dirt from accumulating in the unit's crevices.

2. Cover the screen and wheel with plastic protectors so that they won''t get dirty and prevent scratches.

3. Do not place your ipod in an area that is too hot or too cold.  Avoid direct sun exposure or getting it wet.

4. Clean the outside casing periodically using a slightly damp piece of cloth.

5. Avoid overcharging the battery.  Turn off the gadget when charging and let the battery drain completely before recharging to ensure a longer battery life.

6. Take the ipod out of the rubber casing when charging it so that it won''t get hotter than it has to be.
