I was transfixed, and for a good five minutes, I completely forgot that they weren't supposed to be my #1 reason for going to the States.

Sure, all the members of the New Kids on the Block are pushing forty now, but here they are again, making my heart flutter. They were an unlikely source of inspiration to me not too long ago, when door after door slammed shut on my face and it seemed impossible that I could ever go back to the kind of writing I truly enjoyed. Then I started reading about a rumored reunion of the five guys; soon after that, they had an album which became #1 in the U.S. And I thought: kung sila nga, nakabalik, ako pa kaya? The Dangers of Playing Spirit of the Glass
The Spirit of the Glass is actually an improvised version of the Ouiji board, which can be described as a do-it-yourself séance game because the goal is to make contact with the spirit world. Many people think of it as a way to just have some fun. Some people who agree to play this game have a vague suspicion that they are dabbling in something which pushes the limits, something that may even be forbidden, but what is it really that makes playing the Spirit of the Glass or using a Ouiji board so wrong?

How to Read the Bible, Part 1: Beginner
The Philippines is the only predominantly Christian country in Asia, but according to the Philippine Bible Society, 6 out of 10 Filipinos either do not read the Bible or do not even own one. Reasons for this vary from seemingly valid (i.e. the old English is hard to read) to plain ridiculous (i.e. the small font hurts their eyes).
